How did we get here? How are we in August already? I have felt the need to reach out publicly in order to thank SO many of you for your kindness over these past 12 weeks. Who knows what a blog could turn in to? If nothing else, I think a really cool place to share memories of my favorite little boy and share how our family is attempting to keep going each day.

That being said, my family and I would like to say thank you. "Normal Melissa" (as I call the old me) would have gracefully written each and every one of you a personal thank you note for the flowers, meals, gifts, donations, favors, etc. I could go on and on. We have been absolutely overwhelmed with love. But as I'm sure you can imagine, sometimes just waking up each day is more than I can bear. Your kindness and most of all, prayers, is what is pulling us through right now.

I have learned a lot in these past 12 weeks. I have a much different perspective on life than I ever have before. I used to think "life is so short!" Whereas now, it seems like an eternity until I'm reunited with my sweet boy again. I have learned so much about Caroline! She is the "salty" to Hudson's "sweet," but gosh is that girl funny. She has kept us laughing. We have learned that she loves any body of water.. Pool, lake, beach. You name it! I have learned that I'm stronger than I ever thought I could possibly be. My #1 fear has been realized, but the sun continues to come up every morning, whether I like it or not.

I just don't feel like social media is the best place to share my heart right now (I love all of you, but seeing your precious families is hard sometimes!) So I figured this would be a good place to come and share some updates, along with some photos of our Sweet Caroline.

Did I mention we got a puppy?! Oh yeah.. We have a new puppy named Luke! I think Hudson would have approved of that decision. :)
